Last month I worked on a quick styling project which I was personally quite excited about. Styling two men for a celebrity based television show back in May is the only men's styling experience I can list, so I was a little nervous. Although, it's hardly a task to style a good looking man, we were determined to experiment with different looks, creating a good mix of classic and contemporary, so were quite thrilled by the outcome.

Whether you've been an ardent follower of this blog or you've just been casually browsing on a regular basis, you would know that my style tilts more towards the feminine side. I mean I love my jeans & pants but if you ask me, honestly, I could live in my skater dresses and flouncy skirts forever. But as they say, change is the spice of life. So every now and then I do try to pick up some pieces that are slightly out of my comfort zone or style barricades. This jacket is just one of those pieces. I saw it over a month ago and visited the store thrice before I finally made the splurge. And boy, am I glad I jumped in. I've worn it with pants and rocked it with a dress too. I look forward to wearing it more often once the humidity and heat decide to leave us alone. For this outfit, I decided to go with these burgundy/oxblood/whateveryouwanttocallit pants with the jacket because I love the contrast it creates. I added a simple off-white flowy blouse for that neutral touch and finished it off with tan shoes. For the bag, I stole my mom's vintage leather purse and I am in no mood to let go! I hope you guys enjoyed the post and hopefully, I motivated you to go buy those floral pants or that sequin dress or that velvet skirt which you weren't sure of buying, until now of course!

Burgundy Love

Life is full of risks. Be it a life altering one or even those coloured trousers you just bought. Life is a lot more fun with risks, that is what I have learnt! Hence the trousers and of course my love for Burgundy had a mammoth role to play in adding these to my wardrobe. This season I have added a burgundy jumper, blazer, shirt, skirt, dress and trouser to my closet. I am telling you, it's addictive! I have been waiting for winter to arrive to this city for the longest time now and it's gradually getting here! My knits and blazers will finally get a sneak peek of the world.

Now for the help bit. If you are someone who still just gazes at coloured trousers at the mall and the trial room is the only place you've worn them then well, it's time to shed those inhibitions! A little help-
If you're a beginner, start with a colour you'll be the most comfortable in. Preferably a darker one. Deep purple, burgundy, bottle green, etc.
Pair them with your neutral tops- white, black, grey, beige or off white.
Accessorize with contrast jewellery with gold or silver accents.
And voila!
It really isn’t as hard as that girl on the street made you feel. Give it a try and tell me how it went!
