Layering Baubles with Tanishq

All jewellery- IVA by Tanishq, White cropped top- Forever21, Maxi Skirt- Zara, Pink dress- Stalkbuylove, White blazer- Zara, Denim jacket & Black jumpsuit- Topshop

Tanishq recently launched their IVA 2 collection! The pieces are very different from what you would normally see at Tanishq. The designs are very modern, intriguing and versatile. The collection is a good mix of dainty and statement pieces which can be easily layered together. Layering jewellery is one of my favourite ways to upgrade everyday looks. If you follow me on Instagram, you see me layer necklaces, rings and bracelets on a regular basis! So today, we're showing you how you could layer jewellery like a pro by just  keeping a few simple rules in mind.

Necklaces
When layering necklaces, make sure to mix different lengths. Start by placing the shortest necklace and then build your way through the rest. Play with complimentary colours for a fresh look. For a modern approach, don't be afraid to mix different metals!

Rings
Rings is the easiest way to start if you're still new to the layering concept. While working with rings, make sure to mix small and statement rings. Also, work with the positioning of the rings. Midi rings is a trend that I am still in love with. Choose a similar colour scheme and layer your favourite rings!

Bracelets
The key here is to mix dainty and chunky pieces. In the video, I choose two chunky bracelets and two dainty pieces. You could even layer these with your favourite watch. Again, don't refrain from mixing different metals and colours!

So go ahead and give this layering trend a go! While you're doing so, style yourself in a look that you think would compliment the jewellery from the IVA collection and share it on Instagram! Don't forget to tag Styledrive & Tanishq so that we can see your entries. If we like your look you could be the winner of this fun contest!

Store- Viari, Skirt- Bossini, Blazer- Zara, Earrings & Tank- Forever21, His shirt & shorts- Mesh

Since I started blogging, I have had wonderful opportunities to work with both well established as well as some amazing start up brands! Now, I am a bit picky when it comes to featuring a brand on the blog because the brand has to meet a mental check list first. One being that I have either used their products in the past or if they stock products that I would genuinely love to buy. Two, it needs to fit into my style chart. And three if it's something different from what I've otherwise seen aka full points for novelty. And last and final if I think that it is something that, I definitely need to introduce you guys to!

So when we were invited by Viari to visit their new store at Linking road, I first decided to go through their website to start checking things from my list! As I was browsing through, the simplicity of the designs, the colour palette and the fact that within minutes, there were more than 5 things that I could see myself styling in multiple ways, had me hooked! Not only did they stock women's stuff but they even had some classic pieces that the men would love too! From everyday bags to carry on's to laptop and ipad sleeves to small jewellery boxes and everything else in between, they had it all covered.

When we visited the store over the weekend, first I was a bit overwhelmed because there were multiple things that instantly caught my fancy! Personally, I think a well put together store says a lot about the brand and some what makes it's memorable too. Abhyuday, who is the owner, interactively took us through his products and their specialities! Viari is inspired by the global traveler, he asserted. The pieces are designed in London and manufactured closer home in Chennai. There is so much thought put behind the design of each product that it was visible the minute we started exploring them. Which is probably what makes them so stylish yet user friendly! All the pieces are made from the best quality Leather or Canvas and their range started from a mere Rs.500 and went up to approximately Rs.15,000.

I found some amazing things at the store! A neon pink bag, a tan satchel, an ipad cover, jewellery boxes and card holders were on my list. Their new Santorini collection is quite stunning too! Smaran also found pieces that he absolutely loved. A canvas carry on for those quick two days trip, a perfect camera bag and a simple wallet. We also picked up some stuff for our friends and family as well because almost all the pieces make wonderful gifts! So if you're looking at picking a new Summer handbag or looking for a gift, you must visit Viari! In case you are not based in Mumbai or Chennai, which is where they have their stores, you could have a look at their website because they ship all over India! I promise you, you won't be disappointed.

Frankly, we discovered The Sassy Spoon while we were looking up new restaurants on zomato. Read a few reviews and decided that it seemed interesting enough to pay a visit! Moreover, while I was scanning through the pictures, he had already gone through the menu & decided what he was going to have! Located behind the Air India building at Nariman Point, the outside area is a bit shabby. But once you get into the building and then the restaurant, it's a whole new world. A beautiful outside set up with vintage looking lamps accompanied by tables of marble & cane chairs welcomed us while a lovely flight of stairs led us to the inside of the restaurant. I was instantly in love with the interiors. Huge windows, colour blocked chairs, exquisite pieces adorned the high ceiling space making it so rustic yet refreshing. We decided to take a table right next to one of the windows and 3 out of the 4 times that we've been there, we sat at the same table!

There's no one way to to define the kind of cuisine they offer but whatever it is, it's really good food! The presentation, the surprising mix of flavours and the extensive menu all keep you longing for more. This time around when we visited, we started with a Today's special appetizer made of set tomato puree and mozzarella! He skipped his favourite appetizer the Cajun spiced buttered prawns because he'd want to keep place for dessert instead. For the main course, I chose the Buckwheat pappardelle with grilled red radish, mustard greens, palm hearts, tomatoes & sumac cream on recommendation & Thank God I did because it was delicious! He went for his standard & beloved Mustard chicken with bacon, shallots & garlic spinach, which is actually on their dinner menu but they were nice enough to stir it up for lunch on that day! All of this was accompanied by some lovely wine from the extensive & exquisite wine list. Next, dessert. Their dessert menu is almost as extensive as the main menu which makes it so hard. We had previously tried the Dark chocolate & basil fondant, Raspberry & chocolate mousse so this time we decided to give the Caramel peanut tart a chance. Might I add, they are all scrumptious!

We have recommended this place to all our dinning & wine lover friends and now we're recommending this to you! It has easily become one of our go-to favourite restaurants when it comes to giving ourselves a little treat! The space, the food, the people, it's all too good to ignore for too long. So next time you're looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or just to snap out of a hectic day for a good, peaceful meal, we suggest you give this a go!

This was my day three look. I had a long day of sourcing & meetings ahead of me so I decided to start with a huge breakfast at Pizza by the Bay! In my first two looks, I tried to carry the army green colour of the shoes to my outfits as well, but this time I decided to skip it completely! I layered a neutral grey jersey dress with this striped red & white cropped top to add a pop of colour. I love the different stripes on the top and how it compliments the grey dress. I threw on a denim jacket to add more dimension! An amazing flee find and my favourite sunglasses was all I needed to finish the look.

I am so ecstatic to finally introduce you to one of the most exciting projects I have worked on, Clarks Uncovered- A week in my Shoes which is a part of their Style Guide SS '14! I was contacted by their UK based agency back in August to represent India in this fun project where 10 bloggers from all over the world, styled 10 different pairs of shoes from Clarks's brand new Spring/Summer '14 collection! I was generously sent a pair of shoes and an Ipad mini to kick start the project. The theme for this project, was for each blogger to style 5 looks that they would wear through a week, incorporating their daily routine along with showcasing some components of the city they reside in through a film and pictures.

When I was sent over the shoes, I frankly was a little flustered because I never wear wedges or anything close to it. So this was really a challenge for me, to style 5 different looks, that not only compliment the shoes but also depict my sense of style. But as I continued shooting for this project, I realized how comfortable these shoes actually were and that maybe it wasn't such a crazy idea to venture into wedges after all! I will be putting up all the 5 looks throughout this month, one at a time! Until next time, bisous.

Last month I worked on a quick styling project which I was personally quite excited about. Styling two men for a celebrity based television show back in May is the only men's styling experience I can list, so I was a little nervous. Although, it's hardly a task to style a good looking man, we were determined to experiment with different looks, creating a good mix of classic and contemporary, so were quite thrilled by the outcome.

The Indian Route

All outfits- Biba, Accessories- Just Jewellery, Home accessories- The Home Label,  Shot & Edited by Smaran Sahu

As the festivities approach, it seemed like the perfect time for me to share some of my favourite pieces from Biba's new festive collection with you! The collection is full of ethnic, opulent attire. The colours, the prints, the fabrics are all well suited for the upcoming jovial period. Truly elegant and comfortable, their designs are cut out in light fabrics making them irresistible to add to your wardrobe! This season it's all about showcasing the elegance and richness of Indian clothes in the form of flared silhouettes in opulent fabrics.

I picked my favourite pieces, to put together three looks that fit right into this season! The simple green kurta with the floral vest acts a perfect causal ensemble to wear to any day time events. Pairing it with a statement necklace draws more attention to the vest and adds a touch of royalty. The orange and pink leheria suit is a perfect balance of traditional and modern. I decided to play up this piece by adding statement earrings in a contrasting turquoise shade. The last and final outfit, is one of my favourite. Not only do I love the colours, but the front open long kurta with the kalidar skirt add just the right amount of drama. I went all out with this look pairing it with smokey eyes and statement earrings!

I seldom take this route but when I do, I make sure my hair, make-up, accessories are all in tow. India being such a culturally diverse country, has so many different traditional facets. Biba's new collection, takes a little out of each tradition, making sure there is something for everyone. So this year, go all out and get ready for a rather extravagant time! I hope you enjoyed my take on Indian wear.
