Pants- Marquee by Veromoda, Cropped top- Veromoda, Necklace & Bag- Veromoda, Shoes- River Island

Veromoda recently launched it's brand new limited edition collection called Marquee. This collection is designed by Karan Johar adding another feather to his cap. The collection is going to be released in parts for the next couple of months. It's mix of ethereal feminine pieces, edgy details as well as some chic active wear. It's very different from what you would normally find at the high street stores here.

This month's collection is divided into three main themes. The first one is dreamy & feminine matched with vintage shapes that render an ethereal elegance to this collection which is dominated by ivories. Details in gold thread, timeless pearls & beads create a truly regal, timeless and classic fashion experience that disregards all temporary fashion fads & seasonal trends. The second one is a delectable mishmash of Bohemian and futuristic aesthetics. Indulging in the cult of print range, this also includes coordinated separates in the form of short dress suits, pants and tops! The last one takes an electric twist for the party circuit. With the party season at it's all time high, this collection lets shimmer and shine take center stage. Interesting patterns, contemporary silhouttes and jackets in gold, blue, silver, black are the highlights of this one!

For this look, I chose these gorgeous Palazzo pants that fit like a dream. It instantly adds that retro vibe and is perfect for a day time occasion. The self print adds more definition to the ivory base and makes it stand out even more. The fabric has the ideal weight to it which makes it fall perfectly. I paired it with this perforated cropped top in a bright tangerine which plays well with the neutral pants. You could even pair these pants with a sleek white blazer for that coveted coordinated suit look. A statement pearl necklace and a bag in a similar hue complete the look. What do you think of this look? Head over to a Veromoda store to try these pants on and check out the other pieces from this collection and don't forget to tell me what you think!

Cropped top- Forever21, Skirt- New Look(available on Asos), Sunglasses- Mango, Necklace- New Look, Shoes- Aldo, Bag- Zara

We shot this look back in April. Now I could have easily skipped it and moved on. But this look has all the components that I have been obsessed with over the past few months and I don't think my obsession is fading out anytime soon. Cropped tops, humongous floral prints, silver necklaces & mirrored sunglasses! All of these pieces are so versatile but look great in unison too. If you happen to follow me on Instagram, you probably saw how I layered three silver necklaces with a white cropped top for a night out. I was never into silver jewellery that extensively but these seem to have done the trick.

Summer & Monsoon call for easy, casual dressing so it's the simple details that make your outfit more appealing. A simple printed t-shirt dress with a semi bright lip and vintage RayBan's would be my uniform given a choice! It's a chic look that is perfect for day time and you could amp it up with a denim jacket or a white blazer. Skirts are also an essential during these months. Midi skirts or knee length skirts work the best when it comes to meetings during the day as they are appropriate, stylish and won't drag through on those crazy rainy days!

Cuffed boyfriend jeans are also a key piece to add to your wardrobe. You can pair them with simple t-shirts for a casual approach or with a shirt to slightly smarten them up. If you're not very sure about rocking them & want to refrain from spending too much, keep an eye out during the sales! I snagged mine from Mango on sale last year and they have been my most worn pair in the recent past. Pairing them with sneakers is something I am keen on trying this month!

What are your Summer/Monsoon essentials? Also I am looking at buying a new, cute umbrella so if you've come across any, please leave a comment below or you could even Tweet @aayushibangur or leave a message on Instagram.

Skirting The Issue

As a girl, there are various issues to examine constantly or shall I say you're forced to look into them constantly? Body issues, hair issues, fashion issues, work issues and then of course there are those consistent family, friends and boyfriend issues. And in between all this, if you're slightly visible on the internet front, it gets worse. People judge you as if they were born to do that. Suggestions are always welcome but not in a 'oh this didn't help, so why did you do this post?' kinda way. I mean obviously you are unaware of the efforts that go into doing a post and all that. But then again, I guess it's all a part and parcel of the life you choose. So the real challenge is to stay true to yourself in between all this chaos and smile.

Be it your personality or your style, for me there's got to be some stability or else it's just a mere portrayal of something you'd rather be. Change is good sometimes though, no really. As individuals we change throughout our lives but those changes are a cause and effect of the experiences we go through. It's different to walk out of a movie and feel a little like the character from it while your drive back home and it's completely different to constantly want to be like someone else. In today's world of excessive indulgence through social media and constant display of things, it's easy to get carried away. For example you may like a dress on someone you saw on Instagram and then spend the entire day hunting it down and when you're finally there, you start thinking, wait would this even suit me? Exactly. Why didn't you think that at Level 1?  Worse, if you start thinking about that once you've already bought the dress!

As far as fashion goes, everyone would like to believe that there are no rules. But there are some rules that you really must follow. First, the awareness that certain things make you look your best and that some styles are just not meant for your body type. Trust me once you have this sorted, everything gets easier; shopping, dressing up every morning and looking good! Because your closet will only have things that look good on you instead of that hanger! Second, just because your favourite magazine/website insists that you "need" those pants, does not mean that you need them. It's their job to bring new trends(sometimes repeated) to you but it's upto you to fall into that pit or not. Trendy pieces are often nothing but a passing phase. So you don't want to buy something unless you absolutely love it. And thirdly, experimenting. It's perfectly normal to experiment with the new trends/colours for different seasons. But what's important is not getting entirely carried away by them. For me, I'd always make sure that, if I'm trying a new trend there has to be one variable that is constant and the others can keep changing. For example if I am choosing to experiment with a dress in a trendy print I'd make sure that the cut of the dress is the kind that flatters me! So it's really a win win then.

A lot of people might call this 'safe dressing'. But for me looking good and feeling good at all times is much higher than blindly falling prey to this ever changing phenomena called fashion. Your individuality is what makes your style, don't let it get lost in this realm of distractions.

The past few months have been a roller coaster ride! I've been super busy juggling multiple things. But now that I'm kind of wrapping up most things, I cannot wait to take a quick break and be back refreshed, relaxed and inspired! This outfit pretty much explains my current state of mind. Flowy, colourful clothes have been my go-to recently. Even though I love Black, I am trying to stay away from it, as much as I can. I mean monochrome is a huge spring trend so you can't blame me for a few outfits, but for the most part, I am embracing colour like never before. This cropped top yells out summer like no other. I love the cutout detail at the back and the fact that this top can work wonders with anything high waisted! As for the skirt, I bought it back in November from the Asos sale, and have loved it since. If you follow me on Instagram you've seen me wear this before too with a b&w polka dot top. I decided to accessorize with some statement jewellery, a metallic bag and elegant nude sandals. Anyways, I am going to get back to my Holiday planning now! I hope you guys are having a wonderful summer and are as excited as me for the rest of it!

Sometimes all you need is that one trusted item in your closet and a neutral top to put together an outfit. For me, ever since I added this beautiful floral skirt to my closet, I've worn it in ways  more than one. Dressed it up for the evenings with a silk blouse and dressed it down for the day with cropped tops. The A-line style suits my body type perfectly. I added some metallic accessories to keep the outfit on trend. A statement clutch and contrasting blue earrings added some more texture to the look. A swipe of my current favourite lipstick across my face, some sunglasses and I'm off to that stylish brunch.
